Gantz Graf is a three-track EP released by Autechre in 2002 on CD and 12″. A special DVD release was made available featuring the “Gantz Graf” video created by Alex Rutterford […].

The video features an abstract object (or an agglomeration of objects) synchronized to the sounds in the music as it morphs, pulsates, shakes, and finally dissolves.

Pretty old material already, but very worth watching as it is a reference in glitch animation style.

Balloon shaped light

The design website Dornob mentions this nice concept of a balloon shaped light. A simple and well executed idea.

Architecture mapping on the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Obscura Digital showed this beautiful architecture mapping on the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque during the UAE National Day (December 2nd) this year.

44 projectors with a combined brightness of 840,000 lumens were used to cover a surface 600ft wide x 351ft high

A house that lets the light in

The architecture website ArchDaily mentioned this outstanding house made of three layers of perforated shells, letting light and air in, while still maintaining privacy. According to the author, Sou Fujimoto Architects, the intent of House N is to blur the limit between the inside and the outside.

Calligraphy and lettering art

When it comes to typography, my main source of information is Geoffrey Dorne, a tech savvy graphic artist who reports (in French) things of interest on his design news blog, graphism.fr.

This is where I heard of Luca Barcellona, an Italian graphic artist and calligrapher. I consider typography and calligraphy to be ones of the finest forms of art, so seeing videos of his work just leaves me in awe.
