{"id":568,"date":"2013-01-11T10:26:32","date_gmt":"2013-01-11T10:26:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lousodrome.net\/blog\/light\/?p=568"},"modified":"2013-01-11T10:29:55","modified_gmt":"2013-01-11T10:29:55","slug":"the-science-gap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/lousodrome.net\/blog\/light\/2013\/01\/11\/the-science-gap\/","title":{"rendered":"The science gap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/lousodrome.net\/blog\/light\/2012\/07\/05\/history-explained\/\">I mentioned before<\/a> the video by cartoonist Jorge Cham, illustrating the explanations of a CERN researcher on the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Large_Hadron_Collider\">Large Hadron Collider<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Higgs_boson\">Higgs boson<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.phdcomics.com\/comics\/archive.php?comicid=1489\">This video was great<\/a> and explained in layman&#8217;s terms the matter (pun intended) of this huge research project.<\/p>\n<p>Today I watched a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.phdcomics.com\/comics.php?f=1549\">TEDx talk by Jorge Cham<\/a>, tackling with what he refers to as <em>the science gap<\/em>, between the people who do science, and the general public.
